The northern tip of Cancún's Hotel Zone curves westward — the "top of the 7" shape the peninsula makes on a map — and faces north across the Bahía de Mujeres. Sargassum arrives from the east. The bay faces the opposite direction. This single geographic factor is why Cancún North consistently delivers a different beach experience from the southern end, often dramatically so on the same day.

This area concentrates some of the largest resort properties in Quintana Roo, whose private cleanup operations back up the municipal response. During peak season, conditions here typically track 1–2 levels lighter than South Cancún. The best months remain December through March, though 2026's early season has narrowed that reliable window.
